The Football Association of Wales has today confirmed that The Rock, the home of Cefn Druids AFC, will host the 2018/19 JD Welsh Cup Final between Connah’s Quay Nomads and The New Saints. The Final will take place on Sunday 5 May at 14:45, and be broadcast live on S4C and streamed online on the S4C website and Sgorio Facebook page. Druids Progress in the Welsh Cup!
Cefn Druids survived a potential banana skin as they progressed past Cup minnows Ynysddu Welfare to reach Round Four of the JD Welsh Cup. Dean Rittenberg and Naim Arsan scored in the first half to settle any nerves. Druids have been drawn away to Llanrhaeadr FC in round 3 of the Welsh Cup. The Montgomeryshire based side currently play in the Spar Mid Wales League and have much experience in the Cymru Alliance. Cefn Druids were unceremoniously dumped out of the JD Welsh Cup as James Davies’ hat-trick helped Llanfair United to a shock 4-1 victory at Mount Field. Cefn Druids will make a second attempt to travel to Llanfair United on Saturday with a shortage of numbers in the squad. After the original date last weekend was called off because of a frozen pitch, Druids have agreed to switch the game back to the original conference date despite being without Naim Arsan and Adam Hesp who are away on Wales futsal duty.
