Disappointment in season opener
The Druids had a disappointing start to the season last week away at The Oval as league new
boys Caernarfon powered their way to the three points. Cai Jones' volley was the difference between the teams as a excitable home crowd of over 800
helped their side over the line in the closing stages. Druids could have been in front early on. Naim Arsan's long ball found James Davies, and the forward managed to knock it past Alex Ramsey only for Nathan Craig to clear off the line! Craig was then involved in the games only goal. His corner was headed on by Gareth Edwards towards Jones, and the forward turned to volley home past Michael Jones. Druids looked improved in the second half but this yielded few chances, Huw used all options
available to him from a depleted bench. Piskorski on for Simpson, Cartwright on for Burrows & Ap Gareth on for Kershaw. Druids will need to discover the same drive and hunger they had last season if they are to secure a strong finish this season. A leauge opener at Caernarfon was never going to be easy, its also worth noting Druids lost their opener 3-0 to Cardiff Met last season and we finsihed with our best ever finish. There's a long season ahead. Onwards and Upwards - COME ON YOU ANCIENTS!
