Druids leave Stebonheath empty handed.

Llanelli moved off the bottom as they completed a Phase 1 double over Druids at Stebonheath Park.

The win was their first of the season at home, and came at a perfect time for Andy Hill’s side as they moved above Llandudno thanks to Carmarthen’s victory up north.

A tight first half looked like it would end goalless with neither side creating chances, until James Loveridge popped up on the stroke of half time to put his team in front, the forward timing a break well before lobbing Michael Jones.

Druids pushed for an equaliser in the second half, with Arek Piskorski going close, but another counter led by Loveridge fifteen minutes from time proved to be their undoing, the forward getting the better of Nathan Peate before crossing low for Chris Jones to seal the points.

The bottom of the table clash was viewed as a must win for Druids as they look to secure their league position, the disappointing result and lacklustre performance will need a reassessment as the team head into a week break now before returning to The Rock ahead of a clash against Bala town.
