Cefn Druids AFC are pleased to announce that the new Medical and Physio staff have now been appointed and that the club is moving forward with the latest acquisition to the professional team already assembled at The Rock.
Cefn Druids Chairman, John Hughes commented: - “ We have recently added new members to our Medical and sports Science team. Long serving Neil Roberts, who specialises in trauma injuries, has been joined by Phil Joseph, the ex Wales Rugby League International, who now specialises in Conditioning and Physiology, Dr Richard Lawrence , also of the Welsh Rugby League team, specialising in Cardiology, and Levi Challoner who is working towards his Masters Degree in Sports and Excercise Physiology at Bangor University.
All of the team has a vast knowledge in the field of Sport Science.Together with Huw, our first team manager who also has a Sports Science degree, the club is looking forward to trail blazing in the Welsh Premier League. We firmly believe that Cefn Druids will be at the forefront of Sports Science development at the highest level.”
The team have already hit the ground running, getting James Davies fit for the match against Aberystywth - in which he scored the winner and also seeing Alun Morris fit to make the bench after a long absence from first team action.
Hughes also added, ”As a club with a limited playing budget, it makes sense to invest in top professionals who can ensure that our injuries are limited and that rehabilitation is an essential part of squad development - The conversations tonight were also geared to engaging our younger players, some of them just 8 years of age, so that they are enveloped in the total “Healthy Living “ package. I am convinced that the programme planned will be a tremendous success supported by young players and their parents”
The club looks forward to seeing the benefits of this investment as time progresses, the hope is from top to bottom the club will see benefits.
