Druids made the short trip to the Deeside stadium to take on the League leaders, a win for Nomads would put them 5 points clear at the top. Andy Morrison’s side had a glorious chance after a minute to make it 1-0 as Druid's struggled to clear a ball from their box, before the home side eventually prodded wide. Nathan Peate put the Ancients ahead after seven minutes after some good work from Dean Rittenberg made the goal possible, and Druids had a great chance to make it 0-2 moments later as Rittenberg won a penalty, but John Danby made a big save to keep the deficit to one goal. Michael Bakare squandered a good opportunity to draw the game level after quarter of an hour when he glanced a header over the bar after battling into the six-yard box when the home side had a corner, but despite the best efforts of both sides it stayed 0-1 until the break. Making adjustments at the break, Andy Morrison used his final substitutions having been forced into making one in the first half, and whatever he said at the interval worked as lightning-quick start to the second half saw Bakare and Rob Hughes net to make it 2-1 to the home side in ten minuites after half time. Druids battled to get back into the game, with Jordan Evans leading a promising counter attack, but not quite being able to find the back of the net as Danby saved well. The Ancients also had three decent opportunities to score in quick succession as Connah’s Quay couldn’t clear the danger, but threw their bodies in the way of promising efforts by Druids. Ilan ap Gareth entered the fray as a substitute and unleashed a spectacular strike soon afterwards from 35 yards that looped and dipped before Danby tipped it over the cross bar, however Druids were soon dealt a further blow as their captain Neil Ashton saw red for a second bookable offence, down to ten men. A final goal by Callum Morris from close range made it 3-1 at Full Time and Druids left disappointed, and the WPL finds itself with the title challenger in Nomads.
