Alec Mudimu back in action for Zimbabwe

Druids Midfielder Alec Mudimu has received a call up to play for Zimbabwe during this weeks international break. This will be Alec's 4 international cap for his country since his debut back in March.

Zimbabwe will play the Democratic Republic of Congo in the African Cup of Nations qualifier in Kinshasa on Saturday night. The two teams will then meet again at the National Sports Stadium, Harare three days later.

Zimbabwe top group G on four points, the same as their opponents on Saturday but are on the top of the group by virtue of their superior goal difference. DRC boasts big names such as Arthur Masuaku who plies his trade in the English Premier League with West Ham, Yannick Bolasie of Aston Villa and Neeskens Kebano of Fulham

In an interview for 'All Africa.com' Mudimu said "People might say that the Democratic Republic of Congo have some of the best players who ply their trade in the top leagues in the world but this is football, you have to realise that. We believe in our capabilities, we are not intimidated by the stature of the DRC, Of course we have to respect our opponents but that is not to say we fear them."

We wish the Zim Warriors the best of luck for the qualifiers, and we look forward to having Mudimu back at The Rock very soon.
