It ends all level with Caernarfon

A big fixture for both sides, Cefn Druids were keen to avenge their defeat on the opening day of the season at the hands of the Cofis at The Oval. The Ancients fielded a depleted side with keeper Micheal Jones & midfielder Ryan Kershaw serving match bans and star man James Davies out with an injury picked up away at Cardiff Met. Druids had their hearts in their mouths in the opening minutes as Caernarfon had the ball in the back of the Druids net, but the flag came up to rule the goal out for offside. Druids reserve keeper Joel Thompson was then booked for a challenge on Jamie Breese, but the home side drew first blood as Neil Ashton put Huw Griffiths’ side ahead after 28 minutes, before Matty Owen squandered a chance to double that lead soon afterwards when he dragged a shot wide and 1-0 it stayed into the break. Danny Brookwell notched the goal that drew the Cofis level after an hour to make it 1-1, game on. Both sides through everything to secure the full 3 points but the game was to remain 1-1 with the teams sharing the spoils. Druids remained in the relegation zone following the weekends results so will be hoping for all 3 points against Aberystwyth to get up and going. Joel Thompson's superb efforts earned him a place in this WPL's 5-on-form!
