Matty Owen returns to The Rock


Druids are pleased to confirmed today that they have signed Matty Owen from title challengers Connahs Quay, Matty will be known to many Druids fans after his loan stint at the club first in 2013 from Wrexham AFC and following transfer to Druids in 2014, before then making a move to fellow WPL club Newtown at the end of that season.

Owen then made a move to Connahs Quay in the summer of 2016 where he has been until now, Huw will be happy to secure this stable and reliable player - an addition that adds quality to the Druids midfield.

John Hughes, Chairman commented :- "We are very happy to welcome Matty back to the Rock.His situation has been closely monitored by the management and it goes without saying that he will provide us with added quality.I am sure that all Cefn Druids supporters will be pleased to see him in the black and white stripes."

Huw Griffiths, Manager said :- "Matty offers us a different range of passing and he will give us a bit more quality and a greater threat at set-pieces. He's someone I know and he's come on leaps and bounds since he was last at the club, this is a big signing for the club and shows what we are trying to do at Cefn Druids."
