Boxing Day Blues!
The festive period always brings tough tests, none more so than facing title chasers and perpetual high flyers Connahs Quay. Boxing Day will be one to forget for Druids fans as the team failed to capitalise on weakened 10 men Quay following a 45min straight red to Goalscorer Wignall. The second half seen an all out assault by the ancients but struggled to find the back of the net following a number of key saves by the Quay keeper.
"John Danby was the hero for Connah's Quay as they also held on with ten-men to take all three points from the Rock.
Ryan Wignall scored the only goal of the game on 16', cutting in from the right flank before slotting home into the opposite corner.
Wignall though was then shown a straight red on the stroke of half time for an off the ball incident.
Danby though proved the difference, making a number of key saves throughout as Druids threw the kitchen sink at finding an equaliser to no avail."
