Huge point for Druids on the Road!
In a close game at Cyncoed Campus, Cefn Druids managed to take a point after a physical prefromance by both sides. Druids will ponder the opportunity to take all 3 points after Met went down to 10 men in the second half.
A tight opening to the game saw few chances of note created, as both defences were on top. Indeed the first clear chance of the game led to the opening goal, Nathan Peate leaping highest to head home a cross. Peate almost doubled the lead six minutes later, volleying over after a Druids corner had been recycled back into the area.
Met tried to find a way back into the game, but their usual sweeping, switching play tactic was being nullified well by the visitors. It was a different approach that led to the equaliser, Eliot Evans lofting a through ball over the defence for Roscrow, who controlled well and slotted home past Michael Jones.
Into the second half, Michael Pritchard had the opening chance, volleying well over, before Alec Mudimu curled a free-kick wide of Fuller's goal. The half turned on the hour mark though when Joel Edwards was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Fisnik Hajdari.
Met boss Christian Edwards shuffled his side to compensate, and the tactic had the desired effect, as Druids controlled possession after this but failed to turn it into many clear chances. The closest they came was through Peate again as he headed a corner straight at Fuller.
Met had one chance to steal the win in injury time after sub Rhys Thomas won a free kick in an attacking position, but Eliot Evans' cross was collected by Jones.
Huw and the boys will be happy to come away with a point against some of the toughest opposition in the league.
