Druids in the Community Launched
Richard Griffiths & John Hughes meet at The Rock
Cefn Druids are pleased to announce the start of a fantastic new project in partnership with the Football Association of Wales. Druids in the Community will be running weekly coaching sessions at The Rock as well as outreach sessions in local schools, with the aim of engaging kids through sport.
The club is also pleased announce that Richard Griffiths will be taking the helm of this new scheme, Richard lives and works locally and has much experience of coaching with kids. He has for a number of years been running the RJ Development coaching group who have received much praise and recently won the FAW Grassroots impact award.
Rich Griffiths commented "I'm really looking forward to getting started with this project, theres a huge love of football in our community and we hope to be able to get out in Cefn and surrounding areas delivering coaching sessions and encouraging kids to get fit and have fun as they build their skills - Keep your eyes peeled for our programme of activities which will be published soon"
John Hughes, Chairman of Cefn Druids AFC said "I'm so pleased to have Rich on board with this project, as Chairman I'm pleased that we will have a growing array of opportunities for young people to become involved in sport and stay fit and healthy. We aim to involve all the young people of the area and hope they join in with the Druids Community Programme"
