Druids move 5th!

Cefn Druids climb up the Welsh Premier Leauge Table continued last weekend after a stunning away win over a boyant Barry Town.

Both teams went into this fixture with a 3 game unbeaten run, both taking 7 points in their previous 3 games. Only a point serperated them in the Table sitting 6th and 7th.

A textbook game of of two halves as Druids chased the game after conceding to the leagues top goal scorer Kayne McLaggon after 21mins. 1-0 at Half Time, and Barry would have been confident of more of the same in the second.

Druids returned to the pitch with a determination that was evident from the off with Ruane hitting the crossbar. Lewis Buckley opened up the scoring with a great left footed effort.

Druids looked to dominate the game with a physicality that Barry couldn’t match. Another corner set up the second with Ruane striking it in the back of the net.

Buckley added to the pain in Jenner Park by bagging his second of the day in added time. The boys and the travelling faithful were sure to enjoy the long 4 hour trip back up north!

The win takes Druids to new heights, with them leapfrogging Llandudno to 5th place on 15 points.

Druids return to The Rock for their next fixture, against bottom of the table Carmarthen on Saturday 21st October KO:14.30
