Taylor eyeing league climb
Dave Taylor said that Cefn Druids will be aiming to get three points on Saturday that will see them climb the Dafabet Welsh Premier League table.
The Ancients will travel to the Corbett Sports Stadium to take on Rhyl as the second phase of the league season kicks-off.
Druids will be without the suspended Rakim Newton, who misses out a return to his former club, while Jonny Taylor faces a fitness test to see if he is in line to make his debut.
On the plus side Naim Arsan, Stuart Cook and Adam Hesp all return after missing last week’s Welsh Cup defeat through international commitments, while Ashley Ruane is also in line for a recall as he was cup-tied at Llanfair.
Taylor is keen that Druids will extinguish the ghosts of last week’s cup horror show with the chance to climb the league standings at stake.
The Assistant Manager said: “It’s going to be tough, but it’s an important game and it’s one we can’t afford to lose.
“The important thing for us is that we turn up and apply ourselves properly, which we didn’t do last week.
“We’ll have four more available but it’s a chance for those who played last week to put things right.”
He added: “Ideally we want three points as we can get up the table, but one is better than none.”
