Yesterday Druids got their pre-season underway with a friendly against National League side Wrexham. The match as always attracts alot of attention, as both sides get to show off their summer acquisitions for the first time. A bumper crowd of 1,300 were there to greet the players on a roasting hot day at The Rock. Druids will play local side Cefn Albion in our annual pre-season friendly, the match is played to raise money for local good causes. Last year the money went to the Plas Bod Llwyd residential home in Cefn Mawr, this year will see the money go to the continued upkeep of the Rhosymedre Church yard which due to lack of funds has been left overgrown and poorly kept for many years. Druids beat tough conference opposition in Friendly.
Druids pre-season got off to a strong start last Tuesday against Whitchurch Alport with a solid performance finishing 2-1 with goals from Arek Piskorski and Nathan Peate. Jonny Taylor left the field with a injury which later in hospital was identified as a dislocated knee which will see him out of action for 4 weeks. Druids welcomed 'The Bears' to The Rock in the next of their pre season friendlies, after success against Conference North side Tamworth last Saturday expectations were high of what is shaping up to look like a strong druids side.
