Pre season : Druids 3-3 Congleton


Druids welcomed 'The Bears' to The Rock in the next of their pre season friendlies, after success against Conference North side Tamworth last Saturday expectations were high of what is shaping up to look like a strong druids side.

These expectations were set in check after the first 5 minutes where Congleton's Neil Chappell scored, followed 20 minutes later by an effort from Declan Fletcher.

Returning to the pitch 2-0 after half time, Druids seemed to find a rhythm quickly with one of our new Trialist scoring in the 54th minute, after another evenly matched 30 minutes of play Druid's Ilan Ap Gareth managed find Druids the equaliser.

With the closing few minutes of the game, Congleton seemed to rediscover the energy from the first half and Oliver Ford found the back of the net to make it 2-3 Congleton.

With the dying seconds of the game Druids defender Nathan Peate finished the scoring for the day in the 90th. The game finishing 3-3 in what was a hard fought and evenly matched encounter.

Druids will take much from this fixture as they head into their next game against local side Cefn Albion on Wednesday KO 19.45.
