Druids defeat the Wingmakers!

Following an impressive performance away at Latham Park, securing a point. The Anceints headed into matchday 2 against the newly promoted Airbus side who had invested heavily over the summer and are favored to secure league survival this season. Ahead of kick off Druids were dealt a blow as new signig Tyrone Ofori, who had made his debut only the week before, was ruled out in the warm up due to an injury. New boy Cody Ruberto was called on, and he did not disappoint, scoring after 5 mins of play on his debut.

Former Druids player brought it back level as Druids failed to clear a dangerous ball, but it was Zimbabwe international Alec Mudimu who but Druids back in front before HT thanks to a well taken penalty. (HT: 2-1) A head injury to loan signimg Joash on the whistle forced a half time change.

Druids continued to create chances in the second half and looked in front, the game looked secure as Wingmaker, Curtis Strong was sent off after receiving his second yellow. The three points were secured thanks to a Nathan Peate header and Druids great start to the season continued!

After the match Huw Griffiths reflected :-

"I thought we were good value for our win, but it's only three points, It's great to get that first win from our first home game, but we need to back it up with something at Caernarfon. If we can get a positive result then it will be one of our best starts to a season, and that would be a great achievement after some poor results in pre-season. But we know Caernarfon will be looking at this game as one to get their first win of the season after being handed an awful start against TNS and Connah's Quay. They will be looking to build on two good performances by going on a run now, and they will want to start that against us. They are a physically big side and they will fancy their chances."

"We started off the better team for the first 20 minutes before they equalised and had a spell of 15 minutes, In the second-half we missed chance after chance and if we'd scored six or seven there couldn't have been any complaints. We were the better side and we were better value for the points."
