Alec gets the call up for Zimbabwe

Druids star man Alec Mudimu has received a call up from his native Zimbabwe to represent the country at a Four nations tournament to be held on the 22nd March.

Alec joined the club last summer and has proved to be an outstanding addition to Huw Griffiths team, helping to push the team on to secure their highest ever Welsh Premier League finish as well as securing memorable victories along the way, such as the 1-0 win over Bangor at Nantporth.

In a short space of time Alec has proved a real favourite for fans at The Rock, as well as courting admirers from a number of other outfits - He recently went on a trial at league one side Fleetwood but according to Druids officials has received interest from a number of other sides.

Alec recently signed a contract extension for next season with The Ancients, and many Druids fans hope he can provide some magic for their Europa league qualifiers!

John Hughes, Chairman of Cefn Druids AFC said :- "Alec has been a great addition to the team here, he's added some real quality and had some stand out performances since he arrived. Everyone at the club would like to pass on their congratulations to him on his deserved international call up for Zimbabwe and wish him the best of luck! - Llongyfarchiadau Alec"

The tournament will be between Zambia, South Africa, Zimbabwe & Angola and will feature a whole host of African footballers from across European leagues. The teams will compete in Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Zambia.
