Huw celebrates a historic night for the ancients (Credit: Salop Sports Photography)

Saturday will remain a memorable night for Ancients fans, the 0-0 draw with Llandudno was enough to secure Druids a top 6 finish - their best finish ever in the top flight.

This follows the success of finishing 8th last season despite the majority of pundits predicting their straight drop back to the Cymru Alliance. Huw and the boys were faced with the same doomsayers this season with a near unanimous opinion amongst those 'in the know' that the Druids would find themselves adrift at the bottom of the table.

Following a blazing start in phase one and some memorable results away at Bangor, Met and at home to Bala the Ancients seemed to surprise many! Results over the christmas break put the early celebrations on ice after only 1 point secured in 3 games (Even after some stand out performances) an away win at Carmarthen kept hopes alive and geared up an epic showdown for the last day of phase 1!

The build up and pressure ahead of the match must have been felt by the players and staff, but they rose to the challenge - dominating possession and managing to hold off a strong and well organised Llandudno.

The dream of top 6 is secured and now attention must turn to the tough fixtures in phase 2, but also the glimer of European play offs! The hunger and desire is not only found in our players and staff but in our whole club from the Boardroom to the Fans!

Bring it on! WE ARE DRUIDS.
