Druids arrived at the last game of Phase 1 already knowing they had been consigned to the Relegation Conference (Bottom 6) where as Newtown had long secured Top 6 football. An unbeaten record at Latham Park and some impressive results on the road have shown a strong resilient Newtown side, who would be looking to brush the Ancients aside. Druids were still on the hunt for their first points of the new premier league season after their 3-0 humbling against a fit and well organised Cardiff Met side. Next up was Newtown away, Latham Park never an easy place to pick up points was made worse by the torrential rain and wind which came hammering down just before Kick off.
