Last night our own Alec Mudimu took on the might of Mo Salah's Egypt in the opening game of the 2019 AFCON Competition.
Alec has become a regular feature of Zimbabwe's side over the last 12 months playing Centre half on a number of occasions.
Taking on the competition favourites, on the opening night following a huge ceremony in front of a packed 75,000 stadium was a daunting task for Zimbabwe, but one they relished.
A tough match, with some great defending by the away team, conceding one right before the half time whistle but with missed chances to draw it back level in the seconf half the result finished 1-0 Egypt.
An encouraging start for Alec Mudimu and Zimbabwe. Onwards Warriors
