Druids beat Met!

The Ancients threw a spanner in Cardiff Mets Play Off hopes with a 3-1 win over the Students at The Rock. Druids entered the match knowing they had done enough with their win over Llanelli last week to secure their league position for another season. 4 games left with very little to play for you could forgive a sluggish performance?

Only the opposite is true as Druids flew out of the starting blocks with a early goal by Jordan Evans in the second minute of play, only 5 minutes later to double Druids lead Evans again with a brace across the goal slotting it into the bottom left corner.

The Ancients then settled into the game, with Cardiff Met finding their feet and holding possession fearing another Druids break. HT: 2-0

Back out for the second Druids failed to find that pace and speed of the first half and looked set to defend their 2-0 advantage, something they did admirably. A header by Pete ruled offside, only for the Ref to whistle and point at the spot left everyone confused, Jack Kenny who has been on goal scoring fire since Druids 3-0 win over Corwen in the cup stepped up.

Kenny slotted the ball home from the spot to make it 3-0 Druids in the 70th min. Met were able to find a consolation goal from Adam Roscrow in the 75th min but the game was put to bed. Druids ran out 3-1 winners, next Friday we head to Aberystwyth - Huw will be hoping to replicate the last 3 games over Aber this season which have secured Druids 9points!
