Druids fan?.. Why you'll be backing Nomads in the cup!
This Sunday will see final of the Welsh Cup which will be held in Newtown and contested by Nev Powell's Aberystwyth Town and Andy Morrison's Connahs Quay Nomads.
While Druids had a lacklustre run in the cup going out to Llanrhaeadr FC in their first game, there is still much to grab the attention in this final.
A win for Aberystwyth would see Druids face two play off games, the first of which would be at home to Cardiff Met, if they win that they would progress to the play off final against the winner from Bala V Barry.
A win for Connahs Quay would take Druids straight into the Play off final, which would be a home fixture against the winner of Cardiff Met V Barry.
Although we wish both teams well and hope for a entertaining cup tie, Druids fans will be forgiven for giving a little cheer for the Nomads in their quest for cup glory.
This is unchartered territory for the Ancients, with a real possibility of progressing into the Europa League preliminary rounds. The excitement around the club is building!
