Druids confirm ties with local side Cefn Albion


We recently announced the start of talks with local side Cefn Albion, the culmination of these talks is an agreement for Cefn Albion to play fixtures at The Rock.

Cefn Albion who have seen recent success in the WNL Premier Cup, currently play at the MUGA competing in the WNL Premier Division. The Agreement sees the side play their first 9 games at the home of Cefn Druids as well as some pre-season friendlies, following this both sides will meet to discuss extending the agreement.

Chairman of Cefn Druids AFC, John Hughes commented "I'm pleased to be working closely with Cefn Albion, this is great news for Cefn and for the development of football in what is an exceptionally talented footballing community. Long may our relationship benefit the people of Cefn Mawr"

The relationship between the two sides dates back to 1992 when it was decided that the then Druids United FC and Cefn Albion FC should merge to form the new Cefn Druids AFC, the rebirth of Albion in recent times has encouraged the development of closer footballing ties in the Cefn Community.

The two clubs will play a pre-season friendly at The Rock on Wednesday 26th July KO:7.45 we hope to have a bumper crowd to cheer on the two sides!
